Prairie Christian Academy presents 10th Annual Fine Arts Gala

PCA Fine Arts 2018

Over 150 guests gathered Friday, April 20 at The Atrium, for Prairie Christian Academy’s 10th Annual Fine Arts Gala. Themed “Moonlight and Mystery”, it was a great evening of celebrating the musical, artistic and dramatic talents of the students.

Floyd Cotton, dressed as Sherlock Holmes, capably MC’d the evening, which opened with Music Makers, an elementary choir led by Laura Ewert. PCA boasts three separate bands, all led by Barry Somer, who has done an excellent job with the Grade 5-6 band, the Junior High and Senior High bands. The bands showcased some of the music they had recently performed for festivals. Between performances, guests were able to mingle, enjoy delectable appetizers provided by Chartwells, and check out the displays of artwork and photography, which included interesting sculptures, painted instruments and unique photographs available for silent auction.

Following the band performances, the Senior High Drama provided a sneak peek of their upcoming play, “Sherlock Holmes and the Missing Memoir”. Based on an original script written by grade 12 student Jamey Coles, the play will be showing at Parable Place on June 6-8. You won’t want to miss it!

To finish a wonderful evening, guests were treated to a beautiful performance by the Senior High Choir, led by Sheila Adkins. Everyone who attended the evening will agree that PCA is blessed with many talented students! Thank you so much to the volunteers who organized the evening, the teachers and staff who work with the students in their various artistic pursuits, and to God for the creative gifts he has blessed us with.
