Carbon Notices - July 12, 2017

NEXT COUNCIL MEETING – Monday, July 24, 2017 @ 7 PM.

URGENT!!!! – The Carbon Community Hall is in need of new Board Members. Current Board members are retiring and in order for the Hall to carry on we are sending out an urgent request for members. The Hall plays a vital part in the Community and it is imperative that we are able to carry on. The ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will be August 9th @ 7 PM at which time elections for a new board will take place. Please consider Volunteering for this society. For more information contact the Village office at 403-572-3244.

SCHOLARSHIP – Carbon & District Ag Society & Curling Club $500.00 scholarship awarded annually. Applicant must be enrolled in a full-time minimum one year post secondary program leading to a certificate, diploma or degree in ag-related studies or be from a farming or ag-related background. The applicant must be a high school graduate and must have completed at least on year in Carbon School. To obtain an application form or for additional information please email or contact Brent Lohner at (403) 333-9046.

GRASS CLIPPINGS – Public works wishes to remind everyone NOT to leave, sweep or blow grass clippings on to the roads. This debris is clogging up the storm sewer drains. Your help regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

TREE AND SHRUB TRIMMINGS – Please note that the Village does NOT have a place to dispose of your tree trimmings. You can take them to the Three Hills or Drumheller Transfer Site.

UPDATE PHONE INFORMATION – Do we have your up to date contact information??? Many residents are cancelling their land lines and using cell phones exclusively. Unfortunately; the Village Office no longer has up to date contact information for these residents. We feel that the ability to communicate quickly with residents (in the event of an emergency, or water supply disruption, etc) is of the utmost importance and therefore we ask residents who no longer have land lines to contact the Village Office to make sure we have your correct information. This is for Village Residents ONLY. You may email or information to or call 403-572-3244.
