NEXT COUNCIL MEETINGS – October 7 & 21, 2019

All Council Meetings are at the Village Office at 7 PM, unless otherwise posted.

COUNCIL MEETINGS – MGA, Section 199 Meeting through electronic communications, 199 (2) Councillors participating in a meeting held by means of a communication facility are deemed to be present at the meeting.

COUNCIL MINUTES – Approved Council Minutes are posted on the Village Website. Signed copies of the Minutes are available at the Village Office for viewing.

MAIN CAMPGROUND WATER SHUT OFF – The Main Campground Sites #1 – 22 will have the water shut off on the morning of Friday, September 27, 2019. However, the Main Campground Wash House will remain open for use.

KNEEHILL CREEK EROSION REPAIRS & MAINTENANCE – September 3 - October 31, 2019. Due to years of creek erosion, repairs and maintenance are necessary and will affect the creek on the East side of the Main Campground and West side of the Island. The Pedestrian Walking Bridge that connects these two sites will be removed during maintenance and replaced after construction is completed. Unfortunately, students will have to walk around utilizing the Green Bridge to get to school. Drivers, please use CAUTION during this time. In order to complete the necessary repairs, the water will be diverted over the Weir using dams. The dams will be removed once construction is completed. The Main Campground, Sites #13—22, will be CLOSED during the duration of construction.

BEAVER CONTROL – Please be advised that Beaver Control has been completed as of September 23, 2019.

ATTENTION PUBLIC – As per MGA, Section 70 (1), if a municipality purposes to transfer or grant an estate or interest in (a) land for less than its market value. the proposal must be advertised. To the attention of the general public, the Village of Carbon has made an offer to sell lots in the Diamond Valley Subdivision below assessed values, various sizes and locations available Starting at $10,000 and ranging up to $20,000.

CARBON AND DISTRICT AG SOCIETY & CURLING CLUB SCHOLARSHIP – One $500.00 scholarship will be awarded annually. Deadline is October 31, 2019. Criteria for Application: Applicant must be enrolled in a full-time, minimum one-year, post-secondary program leading to a certificate, diploma or degree. Applicants must: i) be pursuing post-secondary ag-related studies, or ii) be from a farming or ag-related background. The applicant must be a high school graduate and must have completed at least one year in Carbon School. Previous recipients of this scholarship are ineligible to apply.
