From March through June, Kneehill County ASB will be selling 2% Liquid Strychnine to agriculture producers for use in controlling severe infestations of Richardson’s Ground Squirrels (1 hole every 4 meters over 100 meters, and/or 20% crop damage in a 100 meter strip).

A Fire Ban has been issued for Kneehill County, due to the windy spring conditions.
No campfires (or other open fires) are allowed in campgrounds or backcountry and random camping areas. This includes charcoal briquettes. Gas or propane stoves/barbeques and portable propane fire pits are allowed.
All fire permits are suspended or cancelled and no new fire permits will be issued.
This includes the Kneehill County hamlets (Torrington, Huxley, Sunnyslope, Hesketh, Swalwell) and campgrounds.
Note: The Towns of Trochu and Three Hills, as well as the Villages of Acme, Carbon and Linden may or may not implement a ban within their own municipal borders.

Pursuant to sections 230, 606, and 692 of the Municipal Government Act, Statutes of Alberta, Chapter M-26, 2000, as amended, the Council of Kneehill County in the Province of Alberta hereby gives notice of its intention to consider an application to amend Kneehill County Land Use Bylaw.
The purpose of the proposed amendment is to redesignate the specific area as outlined in the site plan below. This includes 2.97 +/- acres of SE 19-34-24 W4 shown on the sketch below to be redesignated from A- Agricultural District to LRC- Local Rural Commercial District for overflow parking and overnight RV parking.
Therefore, Take Notice that a public hearing to contemplate the proposed amendment will be held in Kneehill County Council Chambers at 11:00 am on the 23rd day of April, 2019.
Presentation: Oral and written comments and suggestions are invited and should be addressed to the point of the proposed Bylaw. They may be made by any person or group of persons or a person acting on his or their behalf, who claims to be affected by the proposed bylaw, and by any other persons that Council wishes to hear at the hearing. Written submissions may be made by the persons above, and must be received in the Kneehill County Office by Noon on Thursday, April 18, 2019. It should be noted, written submissions will become public. Oral presentations may be made at the hearing by the persons above.
Individuals who have submitted a letter may only address Council at the Public Hearing on new information not contained in the letter. The time limit of oral presentations is subject to the direction of the Chairman.
