Three Hills Notices - November 16, 2016

Energy Codes Now In Effect
November 1, 2016 was the enforcement date for both the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings (NECB 2011) and Section 9.36 of the Alberta Building Code 2014. Buildings and homes built after this date must meet or exceed the new codes.
With energy codes in place, newly-built homes and buildings will be more energy efficient, which means they will cost less to run and emit fewer greenhouse gasses.
Note: In addition to your Town of Three Hills Building Permit Application, you must also fill out a NEBC Compliance Report and a 9.36 Compliance Report which can be found on our Town of Three Hills Website at
Further information on the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings go to the Alberta Municipal Affairs website
