• Road Construction in Acme will continue over the next few weeks. Please visit our Website or Facebook for further information.

• The Village of Acme has submitted an application with Disaster Recovery Program in regards to the overland flooding issues the Village experienced May 31st, 2020. We are hoping to hear a decision in the next couple of weeks and will advise you promptly with the result via our Website and Facebook Page.

• Development Permits may be required for all your construction projects. We want to assist you in taking the proper precautions and follow Land Use Bylaw 2018-07 to ensure you meet all requirements and do not encroach on your neighbour’s/Acme property, failure to get the proper permits may result in a stop order, or tear down. We will keep a copy of the permit in our files to protect you down the road. We also recommend you check online at Palliser Web Maps, this is a user friendly way to identify your property lines and it will show you an actual image of your property. Remember - Call before you dig. Alberta 1st Call!

• BBQ – Bon Fire Season – Refer to Bylaw 2019-08 on the Acme website for all rules and regulations. No burning of leaves/garbage, no burn barrels. Only clean wood and charcoal allowed with a grate over top.

• The Village follows Kneehill County in regards to Fire Bans and Fire Restrictions, please check their website with up to date information and if you require a burn permit you acquire one at the Kneehill County Office.

• Senior’s Virtual Coffee Break July 30th at 10 a.m. – Contact Shelley by email or call 403-443-3800 or text 403-443-0793.

• We regret to inform you the Acme Pool will be closed for the rest of the season due to maintenance.

• With all the rain we’ve incurred, grass and weeds have grown quickly. Please ensure you take care of your yards by mowing, weed whacking and clearing grass off sidewalks (do not sweep onto roads it will clog the storm gutters and create more overland drainage issues). We all have to pitch in when needed and keep Acme looking nice.

• Kneehill Community Volunteer Award – Would you like to recognize an individual or organization for going above and beyond in our community? Six successful nominees (1 from Acme, Carbon, Kneehill County, Linden, Three Hills and Trochu) will be celebrated! Visit our website to get a form or stop by the Village Office. Deadline October 2nd, 2020.

• Please note: Our Village Office will be closed Monday August 3rd, 2020 to celebrate Heritage Day.

• Fighting Rural Crime – If you have video surveillance at your residence or business and would like to register your name and phone number with the Village Office, we will pass along the information to the RCMP Department.
