KOPULOS - Violet Ruth Kopulos passed away peacefully Friday December 30th, at the age of 86 years. She will be deeply missed by her children, Barry Kopulos of Winnipeg, Rick Kopulos and his son Alex of Australia, Debbie (Doug) Kammerer and their son Andrew of Medicine Hat and Carol Kopulos of Calgary; her sisters Helen Harlos of Regina and Adoline Northrup of Florida. She was predeceased by her beloved husband George in 2002 and her brother Ervan Harlos. Violet was born in Southey, Saskatchewan and grew up in Regina. She married George June 16, 1956 and they settled in Three Hills, Alberta where they farmed and raised their children. Due to illness she moved to Medicine Hat in 2001 and resided there until her passing. Violet had a strong faith, was a gentle soul and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She always had a smile for everyone and to her there were no strangers only new friends to make. Vi found great pleasure in the simple things in life. She was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she could. Even after she moved into the retirement home she found helping the kitchen staff resulted in great joy. Some of her favorite pastimes were music, dancing, traveling, playing cards, knitting and above all of these eating sweets. Although Violet lived the last 10 years of her life with dementia it did not change her warm and loving spirit. Her smile lit up each and every life she crossed paths with on a daily basis. The family would like to thank all the staff at The Good Samaritans for the kind and compassionate care over the years. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 1:00 - 1:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in St. John's Lutheran Church (Trochu, Alberta) on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Lentz officiating.
