It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Basil Lacombe O'Rourke on Sunday, January 13th, 2013 at the Drumheller Health Centre at the age of 84 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 54 years Laura (Maier) and his daughters Denise (Ian) Freeland, MaryAnn (Evan) Wigmore and his son David (Cheryl). Basil leaves behind his grandchildren: Jenny, Emily, Terry (Cheyenne), Victoria and his great granddaughters: Havanna and Eva. Basil is survived by; his brothers Leo (Loretta) of Olds, Larry (Betty) of Qualicum Beach, BC, Dennis (Elizabeth) of Kelowna, BC, Tom (Janice) of Red Deer and many nieces and nephews. Basil farmed in the Carbon community his entire life. He also maintained a home in Calgary from 1968 until 1993 and immensely enjoyed his winters and friends in Arizona.
