Linden Lodge Phase Four officially opened

It was cake, speeches and tours for the afternoon open house event, held Saturday afternoon (Sept. 19) of the $3.8 million new expansion to the Linden Lodge. There were speeches from Billy Coles of BCP Construction (building contractor), Melody Siefert - Lodge Administrator, Vanessa Van der Meer - Linden Mayor, Gladwin Toews - Chairman of the Building Committee, and Nellie Hiebert - Board Director. To mark the official grand opening of the new condo units, Vanessa Van der Meer and Gladwin Toews cut the ribbon. "This is a project that the community can be proud of," said Mayor Van der Meer, "providing a wonderful service to our citizens, bringing visibility, sustainability and growth overall to the community. Residents of the Lodge are key components to Linden with their wisdom and warm, welcoming smiles." Those attending were offered tours of empty units as well as the furnished rooms of those in residence, who were gracious enough to open their doors.
There are 12 units in Phase Four, each 800 sq. ft comes with full kitchen, living room, one and one-half bathrooms, main bedroom, den/extra bedroom, and laundry room. Bathroom doors are large to accommodate wheel chairs/walkers and the hallway connecting the rooms is extra wide as well. Each have a patio and these air-conditioned units each come with a garage with in-floor heating included. The condo units have a private entrance to the west. This day's celebrations were held in the new multi-purpose community/activity area, all of which connects to the original Lodge. Doris Esau became the first resident of the new expansion in March 2015. As of this date, Ms. Esau finally has new neighbors with another four units now occupied.
Billy Coles noted that first brutal winter of building, while Ms. Siefert gave a special thank you for the donations that made landscaping possible, as well as the new tables and chairs being used at the event.
The Lodge was built in 1994 with expansions in 1996 and 2004. They offer studio suites (250 sq. ft), two-room suites and now condo-type living with garage. Brochures are available with sizes, styles and prices.
