Carbon welcomes CAO John Brodrick

Carbon CAO 2018

John Brodrick started work as the new Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Carbon on the third of January, 2018. Said Mr. Brodrick, “I have been retired for six years but without any actual hobbies to keep me busy, my wife and I decided that this position would be a good fit. I am hopeful I can bring a little stability to the Village of Carbon, with them having gone through four CAO’s in four years.”

The Brodrick’s have previously made their home in both Salmon Arm, B.C. and in Manning, Alberta, spending half a year in each place. They are now residents of Carbon. Mr. Brodrick brings to the table experience in municipal government, having been the CAO for the Town of Manning for five years, Mayor for the Town of High Prairie for six years (two terms), as well as having served as Councillor for three years. “So I have been on both sides of the table and I have lived with the Municipal Government Act for 14 years, though there are some new changes with the act that I will become familiar with.”

John and Norma have been married for 17 years and have a blended family of six children, 12 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
