Kneehill County announces Initiative Positions

At the February 27th Regular Meeting, Council approved hiring a Community Peace Officer and a Rural Fire Chief to attain new initiatives.

At February’s Strategic Planning Sessions, Kneehill County Council identified Rural Crime Prevention as one of five main priorities, and as a result, have expanded Kneehill County’s Protective Services with the addition of a Level 2 Community Peace Officer. The new Peace Officer Position will serve to strengthen rural visibility and help deter crime occurring in the County with additional rural road patrols.

Council has also announced hiring for the position of Kneehill County Rural Fire Chief. Collaborating with stakeholders in the region, the Rural Fire Chief will play an integral part in developing a Rural Fire Strategy, to be presented to Council this fall, as another main priority identified during Council’s Strategic Plan of 2018.
