Drumheller RCMP arrest wanted male who fled from police


On July 25th, 2018, Drumheller RCMP attended a rural residence attempting to pro-actively arrest a male who previously fled from police.

Darcy Lee Ewing (47), of Starland County who was wanted on multiple outstanding warrants which included resisting/obstructing a peace officer, taking a motor vehicle without consent, and two counts of failing to comply with probation order.

The warrant stemmed from an incident which occurred on July 20, 2018, where it is alleged Ewing fled from police in a vehicle after police attempted to arrest him. Police recovered the vehicle which he was not to be in possession of. The accused is known to police from past property crime offences.

He was remanded into custody following a judicial hearing and will be appearing in Drumheller Provincial Court on August 10, 2018.
