Golf Club launches Club House Fundraiser

GC Golf Plans Front

Three Hills Golf Club needs your help!

The spring flood of 2018 destroyed the clubhouse. The Board of Directors made the decision to rebuild, on higher ground.

The tentative proposal and target building costs have been tallied at $550,000 to build a proposed 2,762 sq. ft. facility.

In order to reach the required funding level, the Club will apply for a $275,000 Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) grant. This is a provincial program that offers “Large stream funding options to non-profits or other groups that may qualify.” This grant is based on a 50-50 formula of matching monies or donations in kind.

The budget amount means that in order to apply for the CFEP grant, which has a deadline of October 1st, 2018, the Club needs to raise $275,000 prior to October 1st or risk having the project stalled or shelved indefinitely.

The Insurance company has said they will pay approximately $63,000 to the Club, after a hefty deductible and other related expenses. That leaves the Club $212,000 short.

GC Golf Plans Floor Plan

An aggressive fundraising campaign has been launched to reach the $212,000 target.

The fundraising committee has a seven-tiered fundraising program designed to fit all budgets. There will be a fundraising dinner, auction and dance on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Three Hills Community Centre. Tickets for the event are $50 each and are available at the Three Hills Golf Course, Trochu Golf Course, Adam B. Young Insurance or via e-transfer (text request to e-transfer 403-443-1078).

The seven fundraising tiers include the Legacy Level $10,000-plus. You will receive recognition on the donor wall, four tickets to the fundraising dinner, an advertising banner at the fundraiser, at the building site and on the website. You will also get to have your logo on a golf cart for five years.

The Platinum level applies to donations of $7,500 to $9,999. You will be recognized on the donor wall. You will receive two tickets to the fundraiser dinner. You will also receive advertising at the fundraiser, the building site and on the website.

The Gold level applies to donations of $5,000 to $7,499. This level will see you recognized on the donor wall and receive advertising at the fundraising dinner and name on the website.

The Silver level applies to donations from $3,000 to $4,999. You will receive the same recognition as the Gold level.

The Bronze level, with donations of $1,000 to $2,999 also receives the same recognition.

The Caddie level of $1,500 to $999 will get you recognized on the donor wall as will the “Thank You” level of $100 to $499.

Official tax receipts are available.

A convenient option for donating in the Bronze through Legacy levels is an Interest Free Boutique Loan through Community Futures Wildrose. This provides the applicant, upon approval, with a three-year payment plan. The Town of Three Hills will reimburse the six percent interest, charged by Community Futures, to the loan applicant, upon completion of loan repayment.
