Driver survives early morning rollover on Highway 21

August Rollover 2018

Three Hills Fire and Rescue was dispatched to a truck rollover on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 6:35 a.m.

A five ton truck was carrying a portable steam generator northbound on Highway 21 about 14 km south of Three Hills when a steering tire is believed to have blown. This caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle. The truck entered the east ditch and apparently rolled and then flipped end over end, coming to rest, facing southbound, in a canola field.

The male driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was able to escape the wreck but was road-ambulanced to Calgary’s Foothills hospital with undetermined injuries.

The truck and load were completely destroyed. Linden Fire and Rescue were also dispatched to the scene. There was no hazardous spill as a result of this mishap.
