SMITH, Carolyn Marie (Schneider)

Smith - Carolyn Marie (Schneider) beloved wife of Miles A Smith of Trochu, AB passed away May 17, 2018 at the age of 69 years. Carolyn is survived by her husband Miles, her four children Coralee (Jason Moores), Nicole (Micheal Herbert), Scott and Leanne; four grandchildren Journey, Malachi, Emersyn and Axsivier; sisters Elaine, Janet (Gary Lund), mother-in-law Ida Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Gerhart (1995) and Lydia (2012), nephew Micheal Boese (1991) and father-in-law Albert (1983). Carolyn was born in Trochu AB and grew up on the family farm near Wimborne. After graduation, Carolyn moved to Calgary where she completed an executive secretarial course and was employed at Great West Life. Carolyn and Miles were married on August 31, 1968. They moved to Three Hills, where Carolyn was employed with the Municipal District of Kneehill. Carolyn and Miles then moved to Red Deer for a couple of years, before settling back in the Wimborne area. In this community they built a very successful grain farm operation, along with Carolyn's parents, Gerhart and Lydia. Carolyn was involved in all aspects of the farm, from running the equipment to managing the complexities of the business, that were ever changing throughout the years. Carolyn took great pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandma and auntie and cherished her relationships with all of her family. Her number one priority was to share with them unconditional love. Carolyn was an extremely compassionate and kind person who always extended a helping hand and created warmth and calmness to any environment. She was an avid gardener, reader, seamstress, and loved to travel with her family. All those who knew Carolyn are deeply saddened by her passing. Celebration of Life Services were held Friday, May 25, 2018 at Trochu Baptist Fellowship Centre with interment in Wimborne Cemetery.
