Harold Craig


Harold Merton Craig age 93, was born Dec 28, 1927, at Delburne Alberta and passed away July 16, 2021, in Trochu Alberta. He is survived by his wife of 72 years Lois F Craig (Green) whom he married on Dec 21, 1948, in Calgary, Alberta. He is predeceased by his father, Ransom Merton Craig, mother Alice Myrtle Craig, his sisters Eleanor Craig and Beverly Huntington, 2 step brothers Ralph and Russell Craig and his stepsister Helen E Smith-Diedrich. He was proud of his 3 sons and their families: James David Craig and wife Lois, Daniel Gordon Craig and his wife Lisa, and Steven Joel Craig and his wife Ardene. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren – Mike, Jeff, Lynnette, and Robert along with 11 great grandchildren. Harold “Red” as he was called by friends because of his full head of red hair began his power lineman career with the West Kootenay Power in 1948 moving back to Alberta in 1953 and working with the Alberta Power Company. He worked in Drumheller, Three Hills, Forestburg, Jasper, Fairview and eventually retired in Three Hills. Upon retiring Lois and Harold did many missionary trips to different countries for support, rebuilding and repair work. He saw many things that brought joy to his life. When the traveling was over Harold worked on a 1928 Ford Model A which he totally restored, then travelling to many parades and car shows with the guys until 2019.

Harold was passionate about his faith and on July 16 th , 2021 he made his final journey to heaven and is resting in the arms of his Savior and Lord. Harold will be missed as a husband to Lois, as a father and friend to his 3 sons and as an ambassador for the Lord. A Celebration of Harold’s life will be held at Prairie Tabernacle (311 11 th Ave NE Three Hills AB) on Friday, July 23, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. With Covid 19 still active in our community, the family is requesting covid protocols be followed for those attending this Celebration.

In respect of our community and covid there will not be a reception to follow. Family and friends that are unable to attend in person are invited to join our Celebration of life and view the live streaming of the service which can be accessed through the Prairie Tabernacle website site @ Condolences and memories can be shared, and the Memorial Cards viewed on the Kneehill Funeral Services Facebook site @ If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in memory of Harold Craig may be made to St.Mary’s Trochu Foundation (St Mary’s Health Care Center) Box 100, 451 deChauney Ave Trochu, AB, T0M 2C0 or a charity of your choice.
