Acme Senior Girls attend Provincials

Acme Redmen Girls Provincials 2017

Acme Senior High Girls attended the 2017 2A Volleyball Provincials in Fairview, Alberta this past weekend (Nov 23-25), travelling all day on Wednesday with a practice in the high school gym that evening. Acme was representing South Central Zone. The first game was against Vauxhall Queens, a team they had been unable to beat twice before in regular season play and they would be unable to beat them here as well. Vauxhall won the match. The Acme girls played three games on Friday. Acme won against GP Vanier Vipers from Donnelly, lost to Strathcona Christian Eagles from Edmonton, and won against Christ the King Chargers from Edmonton. On Saturday morning the girls matched up against the Vegreville Cougars, a game they failed to win, which would have catapulted them on to the semi-finals. Acme headed home with their heads held high, exhausted and yet grateful for the entire experience.

The School, parents and athletes would like to thank everybody that donated their time, money and resources to help these girls, including the Coaches: Leanne Price and Mel Wade. “You can’t beat the support and encouragement that we felt from Acme, Linden, and Carbon sports fans,” said Donna Bates. “These girls enjoyed every minute.”

Team members from Grade 12 include: Adriana Miller, Sidney Van Der Meer, Denae Janzen, and Lexi Collins. Grade 11’s were Kristen Boyd and Deslynn Fuller and Grade 10 players were Avery Bates, Edan Wade, and Gabs Wade
