Prairie Pilots host Sports Camp

Pilots Sports Camp 2018

This past week the Prairie College Pilots hosted their first sports camp of this summer season. This camp was the Multi-Sport Camp for ages 6-12 and, as the name suggests, it included a wide variety of indoor and outdoor sports such as rock climbing, football, slip-and-slide hockey, pickleball, swimming, lacrosse, baseball, full gym kickball, and assorted water games. The finale was a Multi-Sport relay race, which parents were invited to attend, as a showcase of the skills the campers had learned throughout the week.

Alongside the teaching of a variety of sports, campers received biblical teaching during their daily small group time. The week was led by Prairie staff members Clinton Nigh, Marcus Hirch, and Michael Ioanidis. Joining these staff members, junior coaches Esther Ewert, Essie Pryor, Jesula MacDonald, Ryan Peters, and Garrison Leuf helped facilitate and lead in teaching the various sports and devotions.

Campers were selected daily to receive a player of the day award, as well as a leadership award. Awards were also given for the most improved male and female campers of the week, to the male and female athletes of the week, and for campers who were recognized for investing the most effort received the hustle award. Every camper received a certificate of completion to commemorate their hard work and positive attitudes during their week at camp.

Prairie has three more sports camps on the go this summer and there is still room to sign up! For more information on the remaining camps, and to register, visit prairie.edu/sportscamps.
