Thirty kids competed a ten-week triathlon training program coached by Darta Thiessen and Ethel Hoel with help from many volunteers. The twice-a-week sessions involved swimming, running and occasional biking together, as well as instruction and practice in doing the transitions and much more. Tom Page, (right) is shown receiving $500 cash from Merl Arvidson. Tom and Brady Tullikopf won first place in the Three Hills Thrashers 1st Annual Stanley Cup Player Draft. 2nd place winner, of $250, was Matt Nelson with Bill Winther winning $100 for third place. Gun Club holds summer shoot

 

The Trochu Rifle and Pistol Association held their annual Summer Shoot June 26-27 at their site at Tolman Bridge. Members and non-members from across central Alberta attended the competition. The parking lot at the gun range was expanded last year allowing for more campers. Mother Nature provided a warm weekend and all attending had a great time.

The First Annual Emergency Services Charity Ball Tournament went Saturday, June 26 with four action packed games resulting in bragging rites for Three Hills Fire and Rescue. Members of the Three Hills RCMP continue to investigate why they lost while ambulance personnel claim their reason was they didn't receive a dispatch to travel from third base to home plate. The event raised $350 for Three Hills Gymnastics.
