That's Life - May 3, 2022

I applaud the town of Three Hills for their quick action concerning the major water break on the afternoon of Tuesday Apr 26, 2022. It’s not every day you hear an emergency alert pertaining to your town. None of us ever want to hear that and none of us want to deal with it, but deal with it they did and fresh potable water was made available to all residents from water trucks located at the Three Hills Town office, and Kneehill County.

On Wednesday April 27th free bottles of water were made available at the Three Hills Fire Hall and distributed by Three Hills Fire and Rescue, Three Hills RCMP, Kneehill County and the Town of Three Hills. The boil water advisory, for the Town of Three Hills only, was canceled on Saturday, April 30th and directions were provided on how to flush water lines for safe water consumption.

The Town of Trochu switched to its back-up water wells as of Saturday evening and water restrictions were ended.

Trochu is working on flushing the water supply line from Three Hills, and expects to be using Three Hills water later this week.

I see the Three Hills beautification volunteers have some amazing plans to coincide with the 2022 downtown revitalization project. I see where you can sponsor a flower barrel for $100 to help them along the way.

If you would like to lend your helping hands to barrel cleanup and planting, keep your calendar clear for Saturday, May 21 at Bigfoot and May 28 at Digger’s Greenhouse.

We’re also reminded that Three Hills Cruise Weekend is returning on June 4th and 5th. Watch for more details.

There is so much to look forward to in the coming weeks and months. There’s Graduations, grand parades, sports days, farmers markets, ball tournaments, track meets, soccer games, dance recitals, live theater and so much more. It’s amazing how a pandemic can almost make you forget how busy our region is when all is well. Let’s keep it that way and enjoy all that this region has to offer.

Let’s not forget that this Sunday, May 8 is Mother’s Day. Reward your Mom, Grandmother, Mother In-Law and Wife for all of the wonderful things she does each and every day. Here’s a thought, make everyday Mother’s Day. Why should we only thank Mom one day each year? It’s like Valentine’s Day. Show your love every day, anyway you can. Love is not something we should take for granted. What would the world be without it?

That’s Life.
