The month of June is a very busy month with convocations, graduations, weddings and the beginning of summer holidays! Our regular routines are forgotten.
St. Anne's Catholic Parish had their annual picnic on Sunday. It was well-attended on such a beautiful day.
The Mount Vernon annual spring picnic was held on Friday evening. Everyone was very pleased with the renovations that have been made to the building.
Sympathy of the district goes out to the family and friends of Walter Hourihan, who passed away last week.
Grace Reed attended her granddaughter Sandra Poole's wedding on Saturday, June 26. She was united in marriage to Michael Pellegrin of Red Deer. The wedding took place at Morris Meadows near Alix.
On Father's Day, Harold and Jan King hosted dinner for Norman and Evelyn King, Eva Dau as well as Elmer Currie, his caregiver and her mother, who came from Australia. A good time was had by all.
David and Lori Webb and daughter Jordyn camped at the River Grove Park in Drumheller on the weekend. David's uncle, Wes and Cheryl Beebe of Stettler were also camping with them.
Jim and Ruth Wright attended the convocation exercises held at Mount Royal University last week. Their daughter, Heather Enzie, received her Bachelor of Education degree. Congratulations, Heather!
Eleanor Stewart, George and Ruby Reed Neil and Grace Siemens, Allen Siemens and Ralph and Lois Hertzsprung were at the Teahouse for a belated birthday celebration. Eleanor was the star of the event.
Andy and Irene had an anniversary open house on Saturday. Relatives and friends attended from Bonnyville, Devon, St. Albert, Red Deer, Olds, Didsbury, Stettler, Rumsey, Scollard, Drumheller, Elnora, Trochu, Three Hills, Ghost Pine, Acme, Beiseker, Calgary, Strathmore, Lethbridge and even Ireland.
