Trochu Centennial Celebration was well-attended by Three Hills and district. They started off July 1 with a breakfast, then an hour-long parade. There was all kinds of entertainment throughout the day from slow pitch tournament to 50-year school reunion to pipe band concert, bingo, Potter's Clay in concert and finally, fireworks. On Friday, several people took in the Drumheller Parade and farmer's market and other festivities.

The Carbon Lions Club sports days had 16 teams entered for the Slow-pitch Tournament June 10-12.  The teams played during the rain Saturday and enjoyed a bit of sun on Sunday. The village was full of activity on Saturday morning, excellent numbers for the breakfast and more then usual lined up for the parade. The Carbon Lions Club with the help of our local fire dept. managed to put a little light on the BBQ beef supper after the power went out.
