In July we celebrate Canada Day and, for our American friends, Independence Day.  The canola is turning our landscape into a stunning patchwork quilt of yellow and green.

July 1st we celebrated Canada's birthday. For our American friends, July 4th is Independence Day. For seniors, this is also the time of year when both Federal and Provincial funding is adjusted. The governments have now had time to review your 2012 tax returns and you may find OAS (Old Age Security) and GIS (Guaranteed Income Supplement) adjustments reflected in your July payment. These adjustments are also true for the Alberta seniors' financial supplement as well. This is SENIORS WEEK so may I encourage everyone to take the time to recognize at least one senior.
The Seniors Week Fundraising Supper is on Thursday, June 6th at 5:00 at Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church.  Harold Hunter will be the Master of Ceremonies for the evening and we will have the Peacock girls from Rosebud here playing their harps.
