On Tuesday, May 13, members and guests enjoyed an afternoon of bingo and birthday celebrations at the Drop In. Ed Henkel, assisted by Jim Deering, called the numbers for ten games. Dorothy Haller won the blackout prize and Elsie Garson was the lucky winner of three games. Happy Birthday was sung and members present to have their picture taken were Sharon Cooper, Donna Price and Vi Thatcher. Birthday cake, coffee and visiting concluded an enjoyable afternoon.
Trochu and District Hall Development Society 300 Club winners for April were Jim Guard, Tom and Norene Page, Matt Nelson and Pat Peterson.
Trochu Elks 200 Club winners for April were Jack Layton, Agnes Meding, Ken Komarnisky and Henry Greig.
OORP news
The regular meeting of Trochu OORP #71 was held May 13 with 15 members present. Following the opening and roll call, the minutes of the April meeting were red and approved. Both treasurer's reports were given. A letter from SHRL Margaret Brown was received. Requests for funds from several charities were read. Flowers will be distributed to Lodge and long-term care residents on June 4. Dates for casino is set for August. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary's Lodge May 26. Members are invited to an Elks barbeque at the Walker farm on June 2. Installation of Officers will take place on May 27, with the next meeting being June 10. Lodge closed and a tasty lunch and visited was enjoyed.
