Trochu and District Hall Development Society 300 Club winners for July were Colby Nelson, Ron Soloway, Dianne Haworth and Paula Kowalchuk.
Trochu Elks 200 Club winners for July were Glen Stankievech, Shannon Christie, Phyllis Fabian and Neil Sandberg.
The monthly birthday celebrations and bingo was held at the Senior's Drop In August 12. Ed Henkel, assisted by Jim Deering, called the numbers for ten bingo games. Marj. Haller won the black out prize and Mary Green was the lucky winner of three of the games. Happy Birthday was sung and present to have their picture taken were Larry Clark and Dick Vickery. Everyone enjoyed the birthday cakes, coffee and visiting.
Trochu's annual Flower, Baking and Photography show took place recently at the Community Centre. It was a good show as this was the perfect year for growing veggies and flowers. Apple trees are loaded with fruit and saskatoon and raspberry bushes produced bushels of berries. Crops are ripening and the hummingbirds are very active at feeders now, storing up energy for their long journey south, a sure sign of the coming fall season. Enjoy was is left of summer.
On July 24th, Kevin and Eleanor Kubinec became the very thrilled and proud grandparents of their first grandchild. Aria Jacqueline Woolley was born to Erin and her husband, Kyle Woolley of Edmonton, weighing in at 6 lbs - 8 ounces. Aria is not a red head... but a beautiful dark-eyed brunette. Mom, dad and babe are all doing very well.
