On the evening of December 14, a large crowd gathered at the Trochu Baptist Fellowship Centre as the Trochu Ministerial Association hosted its 5th Annual Inter-Church Christmas Banquet. After a truly sumptuous meal catered to by Country Cookers, a carol sing was led by Ilona Noble and Dorothy Haller. Pastor Larry Lentz from Didsbury, retired from St. John’s Lutheran Church, delivered the Christmas message from his rocking chair and with a TV remote control in his hand. He led the gathering down memory lane to reflect on Christmases past, the days of popcorn strings, paper chains and real candles clipped on the real Christmas tree. He pointed out that although there have been very many changes in celebrating Christmas over the years, the central message is still the same - For unto you is born a Savior. After reading the Christmas story, Pastor Lentz wished everyone a Blessed Christmas, for indeed all is not Merry and Bright. There is always room for more blessings - more good things. The Trochu Ministerial Association, using Pastor Lentz’s words, wishes everyone a Blessed Christmas.
