Trochu Elks 200 Club winners for February were Maxine Jensen, Elsie Garson, Ken Wohl and Phyllis Fabian.
The Trochu and District Hall Development Society 300 Club winners for February were Maxine Meding, Ron Lumley and Ellen Vickerman had her name drawn twice, once on the 14th and again Feb. 28th.
On Tuesday, March 10, seniors and guests attended an afternoon of Bingo and Birthday celebrations at the Drop-In Centre. The numbers for 10 games were called by Jim Deering with Ron Mossop assisting. Dianne Bresett and Elsie Garson shared the blackout prize. Happy Birthday was sung and those present to have their picture taken were Lorene Adolf, Phyllis Fabian, Bruce Guard, Anne-Marie Lemay and Phil Noble. Birthday cake and visiting was enjoyed by all. The favourite topic of conversation these days is the early spring weather and the sighting of geese, robins and gophers by some of our seniors.
The regular meeting of Trochu Royal Purple Elks #71 was held on March 10, with 16 members and two visitors present. The Lodge opened, followed by roll call. A memorial service was conducted to pay tribute to departed sisters. Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved, and treasurer's reports given. PDD Jean Frere read the by-laws. The memorial service at St. Mary's Lodge is tentatively set for April 27. District meeting will be held in Trochu April 11 at the Community Centre. Meals on Wheels is being delivered in March and again in October, 2015. A donation will be made at the fundraiser for St. Mary's Foundation. Committees were named and Lodge closed, followed by a tasty lunch. Next meeting is April 14.
