Trochu and District Hall Development Society 300 Club winners for March were Debbie Hogg, Chuck Greig, Eileen deBeaudrap and Brenda Peters.
Trochu Elks 200 Club winners for March were Dave Teichroeb, Joanne Winther, Lorne Winther and Bob Nelson.
On Tuesday, April 17, on behalf of Senior's Outreach, Elizabeth Hoppins was the hostess at the Trochu Drop In Centre. She left a number of items and brochures available from the Outreach, as well as a copy of all the activities taking place on Senior's Week May 31 - June 6. Check this out.
The monthly birthday celebrations and bingo was held in the afternoon. Jim Deering called the numbers for ten games. Margie Frere and Jim Nelson shared the blackout prize and Bert Adrian collected the prizes for three of the games. Happy Birthday was sung and present to have their picture taken was Marj Haller and Leo Knievel. Everyone enjoyed the birthday cakes, coffee and visiting.
Trochu TOPS 2833 held their KOPS recognition day Thursday, March 9. The program was chaired by our leader Kay Gagyi, assisted by co-leader Debbie Jensen. Five KOPS received recognition including Joan Walker - 14 years, Dorothy Haller - 10, Janet Penner - six, Maureen Nelson - five and Fran Baksza - less than one year. They each received a carnation, certificate and a pen. Since all members have small position, all received a certificate and a pin. The morning ended by almost everyone going out for lunch.
The regular meeting of Trochu Royal Purple Elks #71 was held April 14 with 17 members and a visitor present. A "round table" format was used. Minutes of the March meeting were read and approved. Both treasurer's reports were given. Requests for funds from Camp Ho He Ha Salvation Army and Ronald McDonald House. A donation was made toward restoration of Trochu Barbershop and Comfort Bags for Kids. The Volunteer Tea is April 23. A discussion took place about the price for calendars and lists were distributed. PDD Jean Frere reported on the District Meeting. Procedures and Floor Workbooks were updated. A tasty lunch was enjoyed and next meeting is May 12.
