This warm fall weather has been ideal for travelling and many are taking the opportunity to do so. Last minute outdoor chores are being completed, some homes are already displaying Christmas decorations and the town crew was busy last week decorating the lamp posts. One of our resident hares was sporting an all white coat, so winter must be on the way.
On Tuesday, Nov. 10, members and guests were fewer in number at the Drop-in for an afternoon of bingo and birthday celebrations. Jim Deering was on hand to call the numbers for ten games. Marj Haller walked away with the blackout prize. Happy Birthday was sung and those present celebrating a birthday in November were Dianne Bresett, Edith Lehmann and Martha Doerksen. Cake and coffee rounded out an enjoyable afternoon.
Margaret and Aaron Stankievech celebrated 70 years of marriage October 24, 2015.
Martha Doerksen celebrated her 95th birthday at the Drop-in Saturday afternoon, Nov. 14, with family and friends. Congratulations, Martha, on being blessed with so many years.
Stop in at the Drop-in and view the many items on the silent auction table. You may just see that perfect Christmas gift.

The regular meeting of the Trochu Royal Purple Elks #71 was held Nov. 10 with 17 members and two visitors present. District Deputy Jean Frere was present for District #10. The Chapter was draped in memory of our two departed Sisters: Past Honoured Royal Lady Harriet Siltala and passed Supreme Pianist Elma Scott. A memorial service will be held in the Three Hills Community Centre November 22 for Elma Scott with members of the Royal Purple attending and assisting with the luncheon.
The Lodge opened in regular form. Following roll call, minutes of the last meeting were read and both Treasurer's reports were given and approved. Initiation ceremony for Linda Peters was held and we welcomed her followed by the pansy ceremony. PHRL Irene Diack was presented with a 35 year pin. DD Jean Frere gave a report as District Deputy and the District meeting will be held in early spring of 2016. Lodge closed and a tasty lunch was enjoyed by all. The next meeting will be Dec. 8 with a gift exchange.
