Anderson Park weekend, a tremendous success

Dear Editor,

I am reminded every day why we bought our condo across the street from Anderson Park, the squeals of laughter from little ones finding a stick or leaf on the path, learning to ride a bike or scooter, being lifted up on the big rock or if big enough to climb up “all by myself.” The happy dogs walking their humans, the seniors pushing their walkers or speeding around on their electric scooters, but this past weekend was prime. Saturday was a church picnic, the Park was filled with people of all ages playing games, eating and enjoying each other’s company “fellowship”. Sunday afternoon was the Jam Session with over four hours of professional quality music, again people of all ages filled the Park enjoying the music and the beautiful setting and again fellowship. We hunger for interaction with our fellow humans and no virus is going to stop it. Thanks to all involved, it was a tremendous success. I was there at the start and partly through decided to combine my enjoyment of the music with my daily ritual of walking, more accurately described as shuffling. I could hear the music throughout the Park but was also able to meet old friends and make new acquaintances. I also noticed Diggers Diner doing a booming business. After the show was over I went for my late evening walk and observed that the Park was immaculate, no trash to be seen. Well done all.
