To the Editor;
On June 26, 2017 there will be a public hearing for any affected individuals or groups to comment to Kneehill County Council about the proposed Municipal Development Plan.
This is the most important planning document for the County. For the most part the goals and policies will make anything go in this county. Your residence or farm may be the next victim to spot zoning by a neighbour. Your favorite natural area may be the victim of inappropriate economic development.

The winds of change seem to be blowing strongly these days. When we moved from the north to this area about 12 years ago, we were astounded by the atmosphere of service and volunteerism – particularly Seniors Outreach. Its founders were truly altruistic arranging services for health and wellness for this region of several communities. We immediately became involved. Badlands Motorsports Resort (BMR) is a proposed racetrack for high powered cars and motorcycles, up to 400 per day in the Rosebud River Valley, in the southeast corner of Kneehill County bordering Wheatland County. Four Kneehill councillors ignored the entire community and landowners of the Rosebud River Valley at two public hearings. Rosebud River residents are clear - the valley is to valuable as wildlife habitat. Too many threatened species rely on the sanctuary of the valley.

I have to let the people of the Three Hills and Trochu communities know how much their support has meant to Donna and me over the last couple of days. We were up by Red Earth when we started getting texts that a tornado had hit our place. Norris Hogg asked what he could do to help, Phil Ward called and Donna spent the next three hours on the phone with different concerned neighbours and friends.

We came back three days earlier than planned, getting home Saturday night around 10 PM
