Trochu welcomes Anna Robinson, Municipal Intern

You may have noticed a new face around the Town of Trochu Office this past week. That is because the Town of Trochu was among one of the 12 municipalities chosen to host a Municipal Intern. The Municipal Internship Program for Administrators is sponsored by Municipal Affairs in partnership with Alberta's municipalities. The program began as a way to help address the shortage of municipal administrators. The objective of the program is to assist in the training of senior municipal administrators. I will be working with Maureen Malaka, the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town, learning about the areas of governance, financial services, public works, utilities, and recreation and culture services.
You will see me out at community events, in the office and working on various committees in the Town.  I am very excited to have been selected as the Intern for the Town of Trochu for the 2012/2013 year. I am originally from British Columbia and have spent the last year at the University of Victoria working on my Master's degree in Dispute Resolution. I have a background in Political Science and have always been a very community orientated person.
I look forward to learning more about municipal administration and the opportunity to meet new people. Thank you to the Town of Trochu for giving me an opportunity to live and work in the "hub of a progressive community."
