Golden Hills Lodge celebrates Golden Anniversary

 

Current and former residents, board members, and staff, celebrated 50 years of the Golden Hills Lodge on Saturday, September 11th. The event was " an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social" and despite the chilly weather, it was enjoyable. "Hearts in Harmony" performed for the function. Many dignitaries were in attendance to commemorate the occasion, including the first board chair Mr. Ralph Brown, and the first secretary treasurer Mr. Gordon King.

Randy Copeland is the new Three Hills Centennial Place Arena Manager. Work began for Randy when the Jr. B Hockey camp took place last weekend.
Randy grew up playing and coaching hockey in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. He eventually became arena manager there in his home town, where he managed a twin-rink arena. He then moved to Lashburn, SK to look after a single-rink arena.
As arena manager, Randy will be taking care of the ice, running the Zamboni, maintaining the building, and scheduling ice time

Time for an upgrade
Trenville Park saw the addition of full washrooms, and showers at the official Grand Opening on Sunday, August 22nd. The bathrooms, built by local contractors, will be open from 8am-9pm. The total cost was $125,000, which was covered by camping fees and money raised by the Park Committee. Trenville Park, located along the Red Deer River, is a beautiful campground with 75 sites, that features overnight and day camping, horseshoes, volleyball, fishing, and swimming. Prairie School of Mission Aviation was visited by three representatives from the Spokane Turbine Center on Tuesday, September 7th. They flew in on the Quest Kodiak airplane to promote it to the students and staff at Prairie. Kodiak's are the future of mission flights because of advanced equipment and training technology, and affordable fuel.
