Our mother, Vivian Bruck, longtime resident of Three Hills and sometimes-contributor to The Capital, will turn 96 on September 7. She contentedly resides under the gracious care of the Westview Care Community staff in Linden.

The University of Toronto seems an unlikely destination, for a young man escaping oppressive political circumstances in the country of his birth.
